I dutifully went to court today to support my 18 year old son who is being sued over a motor vehicle accident. Here is the kicker ~ The other party is also 18 and male. We live in a no fault state so all he has to do is contact the insurance company and claim his amount due. Simple right?
No. He wants more. So do his parents...I looked his name up and behold a LIST of law suites from both his parents and siblings towards other people, companies, and banks. Unbelievable. Un...freaking...believable! Jerk.
Anyway...not so smart boy - drives his car away from the accident yet calls it totaled. (my car was towed away and completely undrivable and had 6K plus in damages) He tells the judge he sold his car for parts because it was totalled. Had pictures to prove it. Yeah...he probably thumped his car with a bat and had his family help him!
This not so smart boy does not report this to his insurance nor does he return calls from my insurance company. He spoke with them once and when they said they needed proof of damage...kerplunk! He never called them back again. To the judge he says...."um...they wanted me to fax something but I have no fax...so THEY never called me back." And my ass hole shoots out diamonds and rubies!!! Liar.
Judge gives the boy 30 days to claim his check from my insurance company. Duh...I don't think he will show up in court again nor will he contact the insurance company - no proof of damage via a professional assesor. Dumb schmuck. His parents raised a winner. Apple does not fall far from their tree does it???? Good lord what are they teaching their kid?????
My son is all dressed up sharp and clean with me by his side and his dad by his other side. Granted he does not have the cleanest driving record but he is at least mature enough to prepare and dress the part. This boy shows up sloppy, with crinkled up papers in his hand...and all alone. His parents have done him well. Geeze.......
